About

Lee Triffon is an Israeli-born musician, songwriter, producer, composer and visual artist based in Los Angeles. Her work spans original artist projects, production for other artists, film and television, and audiovisual performance. She collaborates with artists on songwriting, arrangement, vocal performance and production, developing individual songs and a wider sonic identity. She also works as an artist mentor.
As musical director for Serenity Music and its WOMB Music Project, Lee helps shape a collaborative body of work centered on women’s experiences. Her contributions include composition, arrangement, production and performance, with credits on “Cure Vibes” with Lulu James and Yuna Earth, and “Keeper of the Flame” with Madame Gandhi and Ashira Sōl.
She also writes, produces and performs as Surzae, her current disco, funk and soul project, whose debut single is “Sanctuary.”
Lee previously fronted Israeli art-rock band Eatliz and toured internationally. Across her projects, she has performed at SXSW, Primavera Sound, EXIT, JUE Festival, CMJ, Culture Collide, Popkomm and Tune In Tel Aviv.
Her electronic project Kokoro was released through Trap and Bass. After moving to the US in 2015, she expanded her work in production and composition alongside releases under her own name, beginning with the solo EP Different Sun in 2016. Her collaborations with producer and soundscaper Roy Regev include the cover EP Tribute and the analog-synth-based Meditate.
Visual art is an ongoing part of her practice, from creative direction to directing and editing music videos. For Meditate, she created a series of accompanying art videos and, with Regev, presented a live audiovisual performance at Wonzimer in Los Angeles.
Her screen work includes an original song she wrote, composed and produced for Guy Nattiv’s Oscar-winning short film Skin. With her project White Wolvz, “All I Know” was featured in ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, and “Shadow” in Hulu’s Marvel’s Runaways.
Coverage of Lee and her projects includes LA Weekly, V Magazine, The New York Times, ARTISTdirect, Dark Beauty Magazine, AXS, Ultimate Music and Indietronica.
